Academic: It’s Time to Defund the Guns (and the Police)

If you help gun control legislation that works, inform your state senator to approve the payments that have been handed by the House in February.

If you’re skeptical of the present analysis on gun violence since you assume it’s funded by particular curiosity teams, advocate for more government funding on this situation.

Most importantly, help community-led anti-violence packages which might be proven to work. Gun violence is most intense in neighborhoods which have good cause to distrust the police, which is why it’s important that we redirect cash from the Minneapolis police to community-centered teams such because the Gun Violence Intervention initiative, Protect Minnesota, and Reclaim the Block.

Instead of shopping for extra weapons to create the phantasm of dwelling safety, let’s direct our bucks as a substitute towards organizations which might be already implementing research-based, strategic violence intervention packages to enhance the protection of our metropolis.
