Pro tip for aspiring terrorist organizations: making embarrassing mistakes when identifying the weapons you say you’ll use against your ideological opponents really lessens the terroristic effect of your message.

Jane’s Revenge is a shadowy, militant pro-abortion operation that has vandalized and firebombed churches and pregnancy crisis centers since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision was handed down. Their credo seems to be, if abortions aren’t safe, you aren’t either.

The group announced in a manifesto they published in May after claiming credit for torching a Wisconsin pregnancy crisis center . . .

This is not a mere “difference of opinion” as some have framed it. We are literally fighting for our lives. We will not sit still while we are killed and forced into servitude. We have run thin on patience and mercy for those who seek to strip us of what little autonomy we have left. …

We are forced to adopt the minimum military requirement for a political struggle. Again, this was only a warning. Next time the infrastructure of the enslavers will not survive.

Over the weekend, an anti-abortion organization called Students for Life had scheduled an organizational meeting at the Catholic Newman Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The first to arrive found the note above taped to the door. It was addressed to Rev. Dan Andrews, the Newman Center’s pastor.

The note reads . . .

Dear Dan Andrews,

If our right to abortion in Bellevue is taken away due to the attempt to pass an abortion ban and it gets passed we will shoot up your Newman center with our new AR14 rifles.

Jane’s Revenge

That’s impossible for a couple of very good reasons. First, as everyone with the possible exception of the President of the United States is well aware, there’s no such thing as an AR-14 rifle.

Then there’s the fact that having concealed firearms — whether it’s an AR-14, a GLOCK 7, whatever — on campus is banned. And any possession of a firearm on the UNO campus must be pre-approved by the campus’s principal business officer.

We wouldn’t want a designated terrorist organization like Jane’s Revenge to run afoul of the University of Nebraska’s clearly written policies.

Is the threat against the UNO Newman center serious? KETV reports that . . .

UNO Public Safety said they’re working with Omaha police and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the, “threat of violence.”

The center’s director said the incident has left them undeterred.

Who knows? Maybe referring to their “new AR14 rifles” was really just a clever way of inducing complacency by making Jane’s Revenge look like a bunch of ignorant blow-hard clowns.

Then again, the prudent thing to do, of course, is assume that the threat is, in fact, serious and take appropriate security precautions. Especially given the track record Jane’s Revenge has amassed so far.
