r/weapons – Finally took the M1 carbine in for a cleansing. Story in feedback.

When I used to be a child, and obsessive about WWII my grandpa let me peek in his secure. In the again corner, I noticed the uncovered barrel and acknowledged what was an M1 Carbine.

I about misplaced it.

I grabbed it, and labored the motion and requested how my grandpa received such a cool weapon. He advised me he picked it up within the 70s, however didn’t know much about it. I BEGGED him to maintain it, or let me have it (I used to be 15 on the time haha) and he mentioned “no promises”.

Well, as I’ve talked about right here, he handed in May, and this gun was nonetheless there. I about cried due to what it means to me.

Now, I do know nothing about this gun, so I took it to a gunsmith I belief, so as soon as she will get again to me I’ll publish pics of me shooting her.

As we went by means of my grandpa’s issues, we discovered about 20 15 and 30 spherical mags for this infant. All loaded. So, yeah. He had a factor for this lady, too.

I understand how frequent these are, however this one is mine and my grandpas. I miss him dearly, and that I’m glad we bonded over weapons earlier than he handed.
