Things That Don’t Suck: Apex Tactical’s Action Enhancement Trigger for the Springfield Hellcat

[ad_1]

We have been impressed by the Springfield Hellcat (see our evaluation here). It’s a critical — and seriously popular — competitor to the SIG P365 within the “high” capability micro-compact carry gun market section (a section that’s comprised of precisely two weapons in the meanwhile).

The Hellcat’s inventory set off is an efficient one. As we wrote . . .

…the Hellcat’s set off is clearly the most effective bangswitches I’ve shot on a striker fired carry pistol. It might not be on the high with the likes of Walther, but it surely’s positively up there. There’s a clean take-up with an ever-so-slight bump proper earlier than it’s absolutely staged. Then it breaks very cleanly at 5.7 kilos.

So after we heard that Apex Tactical was popping out with a brand new Action Enhancement Trigger for the Hellcat, it wasn’t one thing that jumped to the highest our the need listing. But then we put in it.

And by “we” I imply Jeremy S. put in it. Here you see every little thing you get with the Apex Action Enhancement set off. A striker spring, a sear spring and the Apex set off.

This is why I had Jeremy set up the Action Enhancement Trigger. I’m good with fundamental work on my weapons, however this wasn’t a job I needed to sort out. Not that it’s terribly troublesome. It took Jeremy a few half hour to finish.

Apex has produced a useful video exhibiting you learn how to set up the improve (test it out here).

Once put in, the distinction was instantly apparent. The take-up is now splendidly clean and clean. The break is — as they are saying — clean and crisp, way more so than it was and an enormous enhancement over most different inventory striker-fired triggers.

Best of all, the reset has been shortened. As you may hear from the video under, it’s plainly audible and really tactile.

Apex says the Action Enhancement Trigger drops the pull weight to between 5 and 5.5 kilos. We discovered it did even higher.

I’ve put about 150 rounds via the Hellcat because the set off was put in and the distinction is optimistic and really clear. Apex has priced the trigger upgrade at $79.95 for the black and Thin Blue Line variations (they’ll begin taking pre-orders on 8/13). A pink anodized model might be $84.95. That’s a really cheap value for an enormous improve in your carry gun’s efficiency.
